The Chester Guide is an iPhone app currently FREE in the Apple App Store. Designed in house and run as an advertising vehicle for local businesses it currently receives more then 250 downloads per week. The site can be viewed at www.TheChesterGuide.co.uk

This is one of our own sites so quoting about ourselves is a bit weird. We do reckon that we did a pretty nice job though so here’s to us.

iOS 5 Media Announcement

As one of a handful of Chester based registered Apple developers we’ve been running iOS 5 for a good few weeks now. It’s still a tad buggy with some fairly major flaws (I’ve not been able to play any of my music for 3 weeks) so we’re interested in what tomorrows media gathering could be about.

To my mind I suspect that the new device will be less of the v5 and more of the 4Gs and that the major enhancement will be the release of iOS5.The enhancements available in the new OS are worth the hype, with the new notification centre my personal favourite along with the iCloud. There’s a host of other new features which are worthy of a separate blog but my concern is still the stability of the latest release. I’m currently running 5 beta 7 and have been eagerly awaiting beta 8 for a number of weeks. This is what leads me to believe that the release of iOS5 is still further away than some people seem to believe. I’d expect a stable beta 8 release to need a few weeks before the release of the fabled Golden Master so that takes us to nearly November.

I could of course be way off the mark but I’ll be keeping a very close eye on the various Mac sites tomorrow eagerly awaiting some news. Hopefully I’m wrong and will be off to collect a spanking new iPhone 5 in a matter of days. Here’s hoping !

We’re not new, we’ve just had a bit of a tidy up and grouped things together properly !

Over the last few years we’ve quietly gotten on with building websites, mobile site and mobile apps for ourselves and our clients. We’ve never really needed to make much of a splash in a commercial sense as the referrals just kept on coming. Now we’ve decided that its time to expand and time indeed to step up the pace. Posh Birds

Posh Birds were opening their first retail store just a few weeks after first engaging with us so time was a big issue. We designed their logo and built their website giving them the potential to expand the site once the launch rush had died down. The site is eCommerce ready and has full content management so they could amend anything at will. The site is available to see at www.posh-birds.co.uk.

When we decided to open up our new shop we had an awful lot of things to do so not having to worry about the website was a huge plus. We were recommended to Austral by another client. They wanted to sell jewellery online in their retirement but had no real idea of how to get started. We were asked to produce a landing page site very quickly which matched some existing marketing in terms of design and layout. The landing page site can be seen at www.Wirral-Handyman.co.uk

Ride Fat Boy Ride

This site is a personal blog, created to support a fundraising effort earlier this summer. The site was hugely successful in helping to raise over £2000 for a local charity. The site ranks well in SEO terms with some cycling keywords and used social media integration to help propagate the message through facebook and twitter in particular. Several blog posts were also syndicated via RSS to other blogging sites. Lastly the site is updatable from a smart phone using ChesterWebsites.com’s content management solution which meant that the updates could be made anywhere in the world at litterally any time.
